Our journey begins with an hour-long flight to Tumlingtar whereas the real trek starts from Num. The lower reaches of the trail are renowned for their lushness with verdant rhododendron forests whereas the upper reaches of the trail comprise of polished granite cliffs capped by hanging glaciers, overflowing with waterfalls. The 22-day Makalu Base Camp Trek is an ideal choice for avid trekkers and nature enthusiasts who seek solace and tranquility in pristine natural habitat and those who wish to avoid crowds.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar then drive to Num (1560m.): 50 mins flight, 4/5 hours drive.
Day 04: Num to Seduwa (1015m): 6-7 hours
Day 05: Seduwa to Tashi gaun (2125m.):4/5 hours
Day 06: Tashi gaun to Khongma Danda (3475m.): 6/7 hours
Day 07: Acclimatization/Rest
Day 08: Khongma Danda to Dobate: 6-7 hours
Day 09: Dobate to Yangri Kharka (3,557m): 6-7 hours
Day 10: Yangri Kharka to Langmale Kharka: (4,410m): 5-6 hours
Day 11: Langmale Kharka to Makalu Base Camp: (4,870m): 6-7 hours
Day 12: Explore Makalu Base Camp
Day 13: Makalu Base Camp to Yangri Kharka: 6-7 hours
Day 14: Yangri Kharka to Dobate: 6-7 hours
Day 15: Dobate to Khongma Danda: 5-6 hours
Day 16: Khongma Danda to Tashigaon: 4-5 hours
Day 17: Tashigaon to Seduwa: 4-5 hours
Day 18: Seduwa to Num: 5-6 hours
Day 19: Num to Tumlingtar: 6-7 hours
Day 20: Tumlingtar to Kathmandu: 50 mins flight

Accommodations
We will give you 3 star hotel in Kathmandu and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request. Room with toilet is not possile in trekking area, Cross road will arrange you those thing what you will need during the trek, in Kathmandu and the trekking regions at lower elevation but it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations.
Meals
During your trek, mostly you can enjoy with authentic Nepalese food and more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be served from the tea-house where we spend the night whereas lunch will be served on the way to the next destination.
Best Time to Travel
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best months for this trip. Although this trip can be taken during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.
